Welcome to Kyle – just a short drive from downtown Austin – is a steadily growing town. Kyle offers a great mixture of urban and small town feel with plenty of great dining experiences, shopping extravaganzas, and outdoor recreation to name a few. Known for its true southern comfort food, you can easily see why Kyle is named one of the fastest growing cities in Texas.

Texas Pie Company

This bakery is so famous it has been featured on NPR’s The Splendid Table and in Southern Living, The Austin Chronicle, The Knot, and other newspapers throughout the region. Texas Pie Company is located in a historic building that is over 100 years old in downtown Kyle. This bakery serves everything from Dutch apple and strawberry peach to coconut cream and key lime pies, yet its top seller is its southern pecan pie! So when you visit Kyle, don’t forget to leave without getting a slice. If you are a pie fanatic, make sure you’re in Kyle on Labor Day weekend for the Kyle Pie in the Sky Hot Air Balloon Festival. Not only does the event have a pie eating contest, a pie bake-off, pie café, live music, and vendors, it also features colorful hot air balloon floats and a firework show over Lake Kyle.

Kyle Texas GeoTour

Kyle is a geocacher’s dream. Whether you’re a geocache veteran or you’ve never heard of the term, you are in for a treat. Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices. Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates in an attempt to find the geocache hidden container at that location. This is a great way to explore the town and create your own adventure along the way. You will also receive points for every geocache that you find, as well as points for dining and shopping in Kyle.

County Line Polo Club

A rustic arena polo club located in Kyle open their doors in 2009 and has been hosting sponsored public and private polo events ever since. If you are an adrenaline pumping, equestrian loving, socialite kind of person then put on your boots and come out to watch an up-close, action packed game of polo. You can even book horseback riding lesson and polo lessons, County Line Polo Club offers adventure and fun for everyone.

Kyle Market Days

Held on the second Saturday of the month in April through October, make sure you add this to your calendar. You can find local artists, craftsmen and produce with live music by popular local musicians. This annual event brings visitors from all over the Greater Austin Area and is located on Front Street between City Hall and the Historic Train Depot, under the Water Tower.

Unchartered Adventures

Formerly known as 512 Rage Room, Unchartered Adventures is the only smash room experience in the Austin and San Antonio region. Smash rooms is a relatively new concept that allows you to destroy random items in a safe-controlled environment. This new form of entertainment is a great time for everyone, even if you’re not upset. A judgement-free zone where you can laugh, yell, cry, and smash things your own way for a better mental calmness and enjoyment. EVO Entertainment

Located in Kyle Crossing, EVO Entertainment provides fun-filled entertainment under one roof. EVO Entertainment is a one stop shop, with a full restaurant and bar with delicious meals and satisfying beverages to their multiple lane bowling alley. They have over 50 arcade games that you can spend hours playing on. You can also watch a new release movie with their enhanced viewing experience screening all the latest movies that are out for your viewing pleasure or a Live concert on their massive screens. Shopping

Kyle and its surrounding areas are filled with many amazing large retailers and local businesses. You won’t have to go far to find what you have been looking for, from boutiques and specialty stores to big name retailers. Living in Kyle is great because you get that small town feel with big city amenities.

Kyle Crossing Shopping Center

This shopping center is located conveniently close to Pacesetter Homes Crosswinds and houses 31 different stores that ranges from HEB Plus! to Wells Fargo Bank and Whataburger. You can take care of your health needs with their Texas State Optical center and Kyle Dental & Orthodontics. There are also a ton of other services available at Kyle Crossing Shopping Center.

Kyle Marketplace

This shopping mall has it all for the entire family with their 29 big name retailers. There is a Total Men’s Primary Care, HEB, Wicked Wings Sports Bar, T-Mobile and so much more. The convenience of Kyle Marketplace is that you can shop till you drop and not have to travel far from home.

Dining

Kyle may offer the charm of small town living but you will find no shortage of delicious restaurants that are sure to make your taste buds do a little dance. Texas small towns typically serve comfort food like chicken fried steak, BBQ, and burgers. And yes, you will find all those in Kyle, but you will also find restaurants that will satisfy your inner foodie!

Milt’s Pit Barbeque

Texas is known for having some of the best BBQ in the U.S. with many being in Austin or nearby. When you are wanting a gosh darn good brisket right in Kyle, Milt’s your place. With homemade sides and desserts, locals say it’s BBQ heaven with its tender beef that melts in your mouth. Milt’s is definitely a hidden gem in Kyle.

Garcia’s Mexican Restaurant

Founded in 1988, the Garcia’s family recipes have gained such a following that they have multiple locations including one in Kyle. Regulars rave about their exceptional service to their cheese enchiladas and salsa to their chili rellenos and breakfast tacos. It’s no surprise as to why people drive from other cities to this Mexican restaurant in Kyle.

Ilario’s Italian Cuisine

You don’t have to leave Texas to enjoy a delicious New York Style pizza! This Kyle Italian restaurant serves authentic fresh Italian cuisine with a Texas smile and large portions fitting for this great state. For those who eat a gluten-free diet, Ilario’s offers gluten-free options on their menu that will have your mouth watering.

Pho Thaison

You won’t believe what this Kyle restaurant serves, Vietnamese cuisine! Locals can get their sushi and egg roll fix from this authentic Vietnamese restaurant. Their house specials are fantastic and have an extensive Pho selection that is impressive. Stop by and try their Chef specials – you will not be disappointed with how delicious their food is.

Lala’s

Sitting at the heart of downtown Kyle, Lala’s is a locally owned treat shop that serves authentic Mexican treats along with different Mexican dishes offered on select days of the week. This shop started off serving just snow cones but quickly made additions that included burgers, fries and sandwiches. On Fridays you can find the expanded menu includes seafood including shrimp and crab legs. Stop by Lala’s and try their mangoadas – they are amazing and will leave you wanting more.

Parks & Outdoors

Spring is here and with that comes longer days and warmer weather. Make plans to visit some of the public parks in Kyle and enjoy the changing seasons. Have a fun family day in the great outdoors. Lake Kyle

Located at 700 Lehman Road, Lake Kyle is just five miles from our Crosswinds community. It has everything you could want from a park, including community events! Grab your friends and family, blankets, snacks, and catch a kid-friendly movie at the park. Movies in the Park begin 30 minutes after sunset and the event is free to the public.

Plum Creek Golf Course

A Texas golf course like no other – Plum Creek is a Par 71, 18 Hole Championship Public Course. Cut from the natural beauty of Texas live oaks, limestone, rolling hills, and Texas wildflowers. The golf course layout spreads out on more than 200 acres and takes full advantage of the natural surroundings. When you finish going through the course you can stop by the newly remodeled Glenn’s Bar & Grill, whether you want to dine in or take advantage of their grab and go menu, Glenn’s offers great food and happy hour specials.

Disc Golf at Steeplechase Park

This 18 hole, double tee-box, disc golf course is located on both sides of the Plum Creek that runs through Steeplechase Park and is challenging for the beginner and even the pros. John Houck, a two time world champion, designed and supervised the construction of the course. Come out and play, enjoy the course with your friends and family.

Steeplechase Dog Park

What was just an idea is now a reality, located at the intersection of Lehman Rd and Hallie Dr. This awesome dog park is great for puppies and senior dogs alike. There are doggy fountains and even a dog shower. Make sure you read the parks rules to ensure you and your four-legged friend get to enjoy the time there.

Gregg-Clarke Park

In the mid-1990’s, the Gregg and Clarke families made sure that the community of Kyle had a park large enough to provide recreational activities and special events. Today, the Kyle Pool anchors the multi-use park and other amenities, including lit multiple softball, football, soccer fields, a lit basketball and tennis courts, a covered pavilion, covered playscapes, walking trails and wide open spaces.

The city of Kyle is quickly developing and contains all the necessities nearby with recreational opportunities, major grocery stores, and medical attention. Commuting to Austin is not that long and the town is right off IH-35 which makes Kyle a great location to live.
