Pflugerville
Pflugerville is located in
Travis County, next to neighboring
Round Rock. As one of the larger
Austin suburbs, the city is only a 20-minute drive to the Texas capitol. With over 46,000 people populating the city of Pflugerville, its continual growth makes it a prime place to live. The name comes from its original German settlers by using the German word “pfluger” which translates to “ploughman”. Today, the city has a number of traditions that it holds dear such as their German festival called
Deutschen Pfest held every May. With a 45-mile trail system, residents of Pflugerville enjoy biking and hiking from downtown, finishing with a swim or stand-up paddle board session in the
Lake Pflugerville reservoir. Lake Pflugerville and the surrounding land within the 180-acre reservoir is also available for visitors to go jogging, canoeing, kayaking, windsurfing and other outdoor activities.
